5 – Folder and file operations (BROWSE screen)
Editing folder and file names
1. Select the folder or file with the name that you want to edit,
and press the MULTI JOG dial to open the folder or file menu
pop-up.
2. Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select
RENAME
.

3. Press the MULTI JOG dial to open the
RENAME
screen.
4. Edit the name of the folder or file.
For details about editing folder and file names, see “Inputting
and editing characters” on page 31.
5. When you are done editing the folder or file name, turn the
MULTI JOG dial to select Enter, and press the MULTI JOG
dial to confirm the name change.
“RENAMING...” appears in a pop-up, and the folder or file
name is changed.
After the folder or file name is changed, the
BROWSE
screen
reopens.
CAUTION
•
You can also directly access SD/CF/USB media from a
computer to change the names of files, but doing so could
change the previous playback order of the files.
•
Names that contain characters other than the letters of the
alphabet, numbers and symbols cannot be edited (the name
will not appear when the RENAME function is being used).
•
The following symbols and punctuation marks cannot be
used in names.

NOTE
In addition to using the
BROWSE
screen to select a folder or
file to change its name, you can also use the
RENAME
item
on the
TRACK EDIT
page of the menu screen to edit the
name of the selected folder or file.
Deleting folders and files
You can delete folders and files from SD cards, CF cards and USB
flash drives.
If you delete a folder, all the files in it will also be deleted.
1. Select the folder or file that you want to delete, and press
the MULTI JOG dial to open the folder or file menu pop-up.
2. Turn the MULTI JOG dial to select
DELETE
.

3. Press the MULTI JOG dial.
A confirmation pop-up message appears.
NOTE
Press the EXIT/CANCEL [PEAK CLEAR] button to cancel
deletion.
4. Press the MULTI JOG dial again to delete the selected folder
or file from the SD card, CF card or USB flash drive.
While the folder or file is being deleted, “DELETING FILE...”
appears in a pop-up.
After deletion completes, the
BROWSE
screen reopens.
NOTE
In addition to using the
BROWSE
screen to select a folder
or file to delete, you can also use the
DELETE
item on
the
TRACK EDIT
page of the menu screen to delete the
selected folder or file.
