2. Press the F3 (
LIBRARY
) button to open the library list.
3. Use the JOG/DATA dial or the CURSOR (5/b) buttons to
select (highlight blue) the desired preset, and then press the
F4 (t) button.
After the preset is loaded, the library list closes, but the
COMP MULTI
screen stays open.
4. When using the multi-band compressor, move the cursor
to the band display area, use the JOG/DATA dial to switch
among the bands, and then set the parameter for each band
as desired.

At this time, the selected band is shown in the upper left.
5. Use the CURSOR (5/b/g/t) buttons to select the
parameter to adjust, and then use the JOG/DATA dial to set
it.
THRESHOLD
The threshold value determines when the compressor
becomes active.
RATIO
Sets how much compression is applied after the level
exceeds the threshold.
KNEE
Sets the transition curve.
GAIN
Adjusts the output level.
ATTACK
Adjusts how fast the compressor responds after the level
exceeds the threshold.
RELEASE
Adjusts how fast the compressor disengages after the
level drops below the threshold.
AUTO MAKE
This feature automatically adjusts the volume to prevent it
from being reduced by the compressor.
6. When using the multi-band compressor, move the cursor to
CROSSOVER
and then use the JOG/DATA dial to adjust the
frequency range of each band.
7. Press the F4 (
ON/OFF
) button to turn the compressor on
or off. The ON or OFF state is shown on the
Mastering
screen.
8. After setting the parameters, press the F1 (g) button to
return to the
Mastering
screen.

Using normalize
Use the normalize function to automatically adjust the volume.
This function detects the highest volume level and raises the
overall volume until the highest level reaches the maximum
limit.
CAUTION
If you use equalization or compression after normalizing
the track, distortion might occur. Use the normalize
function after adjusting the sound with equalization
and compression.
1. When the
Mastering
screen is open, press the F4 (
NORM
)
button to open the
NORMALIZE
screen.
2. Press the F2 (
YES
) button to normalize the master track.
3. Once normalization completes, the
Mastering
screen
reopens.
Exiting Mastering mode
To exit
Mastering
mode and return to
Multi Track
mode,
press the MIXDOWN/MASTERING button.
