8 – Settings and Information
Setting the file name format
You can select the format of names given to files recorded by
this unit.
1. Press the MENU button to open the
MENU
screen.
2. Turn the DATA dial to select
OTHERS
, and press the DATA
dial to open the
OTHERS
screen.
3. Turn the DATA dial to select
FILE NAME
, and press the
DATA dial.
The
FILE NAME
screen appears.
Use the 4/. and 3// buttons or turn the DATA dial to
set each item.
On this screen you can make the following settings for each
item.
File name format
The TYPE item can be set to either
WORD
or DATE.
WORD (default): The 6 characters set with the
WORD
item is
used for file names.
Example: TASCAM_0001S12.wav
DATE: The date is used for the file name.
Example: 141001_0001S12.wav
NOTE
The date is set using the unit’s internal clock. (See “Setting
the date and time” on page 14.)
Setting the WORD item
To set the
WORD
item, use the 4/. and 3// buttons to
move the cursor, and turn the DATA dial to select the character.
In addition to the alphabet and numbers, the following
characters can be used:
! # $ % & ’ ( ) + , - . ; = @ [] ^ _ ` { } ~
Initializing the count
You can select the COUNT INIT item and press the DATA dial to
reset the incremental numbers, which appear after the
WORD
characters or date, so that they start from “0001” again.
